North Central Iowa Growth Partnership Business Assistance Programs
Revolving Loan Funds

To promote an increase in economic activity and growth, primarily through the location of new industry or the expansion of existing Partnership-based businesses.

The primary goal of the fund is to create quality jobs or the retention of existing ones.

The purpose of the fund is not to compete with other available sources of financing, but rather provide the money necessary to leverage those resources, whether public or private.

Tax Increment Financing
TIF may be used to pay the cost of public improvements and utilities, which will serve the new private development, to finance direct grants or loans to a company, or to provide a local match for federal or state economic development programs.

It allocates virtually all of the taxes, which are paid back to the city or county, where they may be spent to benefit the company.

TIF is subject to the approval of the individual city council or county board of supervisors and is usually extended to the company based upon new jobs, wages of those jobs, and capital investment.
