North Central Iowa Growth Partnership Business Assistance Programs
Revolving Loan Funds
| |
To promote an increase in economic activity and growth,
primarily through the location of new industry or the expansion of
existing Partnership-based businesses. |
| |
|
| |
The primary goal of the fund is to create quality jobs
or the retention of existing ones. |
| |
|
| |
The purpose of the fund is not to compete with other
available sources of financing, but rather provide the money necessary
to leverage those resources, whether public or private. |
Tax Increment Financing
| |
TIF may be used to pay the cost of public improvements
and utilities, which will serve the new private development, to finance
direct grants or loans to a company, or to provide a local match for
federal or state economic development programs. |
| |
|
| |
It allocates virtually all of the taxes, which are paid
back to the city or county, where they may be spent to benefit the
company. |
| |
|
| |
TIF is subject to the approval of the individual city
council or county board of supervisors and is usually extended to
the company based upon new jobs, wages of those jobs, and capital
investment. |

Iowa is a right-to-work state |
The region encompassed by the Partnership has a long history of helping
businesses become more successful. That's why we are calling the North
Central Iowa Growth Partnership, Your Business Partner; because partnership
and cooperation help businesses grow. This is the place where business
not only gets done; it flourishes.
One of the key factors in stimulating and allowing business to grow is
to have a series of governments that understand the needs of businesses
and are willing to work with you to meet your needs. Whether on a city,
county or regional level, you will find a supportive government infrastructure
in place for your business.
More specifically, you will find the costs of doing business are lower
in the Partnership region for such items as electrical rates, waste disposal
and water services.
The North Central Iowa Growth Partnership represents an environment with
a progressive attitude of cooperation, innovation and appreciation of
what it takes for business excellence throughout the county, cities and
individual economic development entities.
